There were girls and women dressed like Taylor Swift11825015_10101414778843910_4332583493673753949_n all over Pioneer Square, some had t-shirts,or red lipstick,11049581_10102965250341368_714912254623637885_nor even tutus and signs with lights!11855885_746425790052_763669888694239905_n Tay Tay did not disappoint with her elevating and rotating stage, piano playing, guitar rocking and light show.11825082_746425750132_5219851439908268351_nThe entire show was highly entertaining even if we were some of the oldest people there! We may have been the age of most of the moms there! 11836632_746425844942_5906628668813608195_n  After the show, we walked to Pike Place to catch an uber! Happy Christmas Eve!

Happy Holidays, everyone! 10678700_711993148342_3670345498364235343_nWe’re prepping Christmas morning breakfast by making a vegetable root hash before going to my Grandmother’s White Elephant gift exchange in a few hours. All the presents are wrapped and ready to be taken to my parent’s house for Christmas morning tomorrow! We had a lovely yoga class this morning where the mantra was: “May All Beings Be Happy and Free”!10868097_712058751872_288255990014396640_n

10410141_711738179302_4024037521596835752_n  Yesterday, Andy Mac and I got manicures and pedicures before I got my hair cut and colored. My hair is almost black now! I’ll post more photos soon.

“The Christmas Waltz”

Frosted windowpanes
Candles gleaming inside
Painted candy canes on the tree

Santa’s on his way
He’s filled his sleigh with things
Things for you and for me

It’s that time of year
When the world falls in love
Every song you hear seems to say
“Merry Christmas
May your new year’s dreams come true”

And this song of mine
In three quarter time
Wishes you and yours
The same thing, too

This is one of my favorite Christmas songs. (http://youtu.be/FVaFoAIVzok)

total Taylor Swift fangirl

Today, I gave myself one of the best holiday presents ever! image image image imageimage I am so excited that I’m going with my sisters and my fun co-worker friend in August 2015! I rarely go to concerts so this is a big deal!!! However I have been listening to this album on repeat and I love that Taylor Swift had artists like Imogen Heap and Jack Antonoff from fun co-write with her. Taylor Swift reminds me of my sister, Katie (who was also born in 1989) and my cousin, Kiki!

I can’t wait for August 2015!!!!

Seattle in the summer is magical

In July, I traveled to Hawaii, Idaho Falls, St. Louis and Pittsburgh with nearly two weeks at home without travel. The day I got back from Hawaii, my college buddy, Beav was visiting so we meet Andrea at the Ballard Seafood Fest to see our favorite band, Vaudeville Etiquetteimageimage image image They are an awesome band to watch live and they hand out kazoos to join in the last song! imageimageThe flowers are popping in our neighborhood. We’ve been spending lots of time swimming in the Sound and sunning on our wedding beach. imageWe been to a lot of great restaurants too, including Bourbon and Bones for BBQ with our good friend, Beav! imageWhen I was flying through Salt Lake City to Idaho Falls I saw image the fires in Eastern Washington from the plane. Fortunately, Andrea’s husband is fighting them and they’re under control now. imageThe kitties loved me being home more in July and Lily was a frequent lap warmer.image One of my favorite views of Seattle is coming home from a work trip and seeing the mountains. image image La  Isla is another favorite Ballard restaurant especially the empanadillas at happy hour. Pono Ranch is another new favorite because they have a huge patio and fish tacos!image imageimageOf course, there’s also Little Woody’s for delicious burgers. There are two new burger places that opened this month that I’ll have to post about next.

In August, I’ve had work trips in Seattle, Fargo, Spokane and next week, I’ll return to Boise and St Louis. I’m looking forward to seeing Beav again and my in-laws! imageSeptember will be a travel heavy month too, with trips to Idaho Falls, Boise, Missoula, Chicago, Honolulu, Spokane, Chicago again but I’ll have the last week of September free!!!

Our Second Day in Seabrook

It started with a children’s bike parade around the Seabrook community,  IMGP0167  and a quick dip in the Pacific Ocean, under cloudy skies… IMGP0189 Katy and I thought it was very cold, but Rusty didn’t seem to mind. IMGP0196IMGP0206 After lunch, Katy’s friend from grad school arrived with her two cute little boys. It was a super sunny afternoon, IMGP0236IMGP0241 with very little wind. IMGP0251 IMGP0244  Sam collected lots of shells and Ben crawled all over the beach! IMGP0272 IMGP0280IMGP0275IMGP0317 IMGP0320 IMGP0357 Before dinner, Sam decided he wanted to use my camera. He’s a pretty great photographer.  IMGP0360 IMGP0363 IMGP0364 He was pretty funny and also put a pair of galoshes on that were almost taller than his legs. IMGP0389 Instead of an organized fireworks display, people gathered on the beach and lighted their own! Image It was very festive and loud! We listened to Bruce Springsteen and Katy brought Arbonne products for facials! In between masques, we saw fireworks from the porch! 1005596_630704441562_326807528_n It was a wonderful and relaxing Independence day. I slept very well!

5 songs

Day 29, Wednesday: Five songs or pieces of music that speak to you or bring back memories. Use Grooveshark or YouTube to include them in the post

I’m pretty random and love listening to a variety of music.

Mr. F and I danced to “A Kiss to Build a Dream On” by Louis Armstrong at our wedding for our first dance. I really enjoy listening to Kanye West’s music, especially Runaway. The whole video is gorgeous too. I also like the B*tches in Bookstores cover of a Kanye West and Jay Z song.

I remember watching Shirley Temple movies with my great-grandmother, Lola Lola. One of our favorite scenes was from the Little Colonel where Shirley Temple and Bojangles tap dance on the stairs and singing, Dixie. We would even pretend to tap on the carpeted stairs at my parents house!

One of my favorite Glee songs is Stronger. I wish I could find the video because I love the dance moves too.

I’m also including some new favorites by Kacey Musgraves. The lyrics of Silver Linings make me smile.

“If you wanna find the honey
You can’t be scared of the bees
And if you wanna see the forest
You’re gonna have to look past trees

If you’re ever gonna find a silver lining
It’s gotta be a cloudy day
It’s gotta be a cloudy day
If you wanna fill your bottle up with lightning
You’re gonna have to stand in the rain
You’re gonna have to stand in the rain”

You can listen to all these songs on grooveshark too!

Lucky

Do you hear me,
I’m talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky oh my, baby I’m trying
Boy I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

I’m lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again

They don’t know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I’ll wait for you I promise you, I will
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/j/jason_mraz/lucky.html ]
I’m lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I’m lucky we’re in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

And so I’m sailing through the sea
To an island where we’ll meet
You’ll hear the music fill the air
I’ll put a flower in your hair
Though the breezes through trees
Move so pretty you’re all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now

I’m lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I’m lucky we’re in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday
