[Apparently, I forgot to publish this Day 1!!]
Tuesday, Sept. 3: Describe where or what you come from. The people, the places, and/or the factors that make up who you are.
I am a Seattleite. I was born on a houseboat on Lake Union. My parents met in the University of Washington Medical Center cafeteria and they got married on the Victoria Clipper. My grandmother, Tootie, went to Seattle University. My entire maternal family lives in Seattle and I really missed them when we lived in Chicago.
Mr. F and I missed this city so much that we’ve been making the best of all Seattle opportunities this year. We’ve made sure to go to restaurants that we’ve always want to go too, like Sitka & Spruce. And we went with one of best friends, Mohit, when he moved back to Seattle in August! We’re so excited that he lives here again too. Sitka & Spruce was everything we imagined and more! All the local ingredients were amazing, especially the fiddleheads, locally foraged mushrooms and freshly caught fish!
We’ve also made a point to see my family more often! We celebrated Tootie’s 88th birthday at Tilth over Labor Day weekend!Tootie had a blast and even took home one of the restaurant’s salt spoons after telling the waiter that she loved it so much, they gave it to her! My sister, Janie, loves chocolate! My grandparents are the cutest and we get to see them weekly now that we’re back in Seattle! One of our new favorite restaurants is the Skillet diner in Ballard! I love their breakfast options and Mr F likes their burger and salads! We’ve also been frequenting Dot’s Deli and RockCreek near our yoga studio!!
‘I wish’ …. I could be the one and only Charlotte in SATC2!!
[I’m playing Kelsey’s Wishful Wednesday game, you should too!]
While I haven’t seen the movie quite yet, (I’m waiting to see it with my best friend, Mandy,) I love seeing all the amazing outfits from the movie and the premieres! Isn’t Charlotte (Kristin Davis) adorable in her yellow dress? I would love to find a dress as cute as this one! I love the skirt especially and the material!
The ladies of Sex and the City are looking lovely at the Japanese premiere of SATC 2. Who’s dress do you like best? [photos from Tom & Lorenzo’s Blog via reuters/ap]
Wow, How to Train Your Dragon
is a thrilling and wonderful movie. The story is fascinating, the graphics are fantastical, and the characters are so fun! I especially enjoyed Toothless, the night fury dragon. It reminds me of Foosa, our old kitten.
It was so feline and sweet, yet dangerous.
) It was my first 3D experience since I was a child too! I can’t believe how cool the 3D glasses are now. I was so surprised when they were not paper with plastic red and blue lenses!
I wonder if the children’s book is as appealing to adults as the film. Check out IMDB
for more amazing screen shots from the movie!
We trained our own dragon today by taking our long haired Maine Coon Mix kitty, Lyra, to the groomers. This is Lyra, this morning, before her haircut.
This is after we picked her up from Lookin’ Good, the dog and cat grooming salon.
She’s much happier and cooler, plus we won’t have to vacuum every day!
Who are your favorite t.v. show or movie star couples?
Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs are such cute couple! I’m so excited to hear that the Rent and Enchanted star will be guest starring on Glee! She’s got an amazing voice and I can’t wait to hear what she sings on the show. How cute is this quote? “Everyone got really close, but Taye and I especially became close friends. And then one night we went to the movies, and I think we saw Twister, and he held my hand. And there it was!” -On her courtship with her husband, Taye Diggs, who she met through the musical “Rent”. Taye Digg has also been pretty romantic on Private Practice with Addison Montgomery! Have you seen his funny advertisement with Miss Piggy for “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day”?
Do you have plans for Valentine’s Day? We’re considering going out to a nice dinner with wine pairing, but we haven’t decided yet. I’m certainly getting inspired by all the fun and festive cupcakes advertisements!!
Mr. F and I ran 4 miles tonight, with 7 aerobic intervals (basically where you get your heart rate up for a minute 7 times). I am tired. Fortunately, I’m now relaxing on the couch with Lily Thomas on my lap.
I had never seen Boondocks Saints so we watched the awesome MacManus fraternal twins, played by Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus, kill bad guys in Boston. If you’re not aware of the plot, the twins receive a message from God, “For immunity of god make he the man. Destroy all that which is evil.” As they take down the mafia in Boston, they are pursued by FBI Special Agent Paul Smecker, played by the awesome Willem Dafoe. I really enjoyed seeing the Fairmont Copley Plaza again! This is could easily be one of my favorite action movies! What are some of your favorites?
