#yogagirlchallenge To do list of your life

I love lists, planning and can be rather OCD about getting things done. (My professional life also centers around many, many lists.) As I’ve gotten older, I notice I get stressed out when things are poorly planned, or I’m not able to check things off lists in an efficient manner. I try and combat the stress by overplanning…..I may not always be on time but it’s usually because I’m trying to do too many things beforehand.

The #yogagirlchallenge has awesome daily recommendations like yoga every day, find true forgiveness, give up a bad habit, practice a random act of kindness however, an ultimate to do list for life really motivates me!

Seattle in the summer is magical

In July, I traveled to Hawaii, Idaho Falls, St. Louis and Pittsburgh with nearly two weeks at home without travel. The day I got back from Hawaii, my college buddy, Beav was visiting so we meet Andrea at the Ballard Seafood Fest to see our favorite band, Vaudeville Etiquetteimageimage image image They are an awesome band to watch live and they hand out kazoos to join in the last song! imageimageThe flowers are popping in our neighborhood. We’ve been spending lots of time swimming in the Sound and sunning on our wedding beach. imageWe been to a lot of great restaurants too, including Bourbon and Bones for BBQ with our good friend, Beav! imageWhen I was flying through Salt Lake City to Idaho Falls I saw image the fires in Eastern Washington from the plane. Fortunately, Andrea’s husband is fighting them and they’re under control now. imageThe kitties loved me being home more in July and Lily was a frequent lap warmer.image One of my favorite views of Seattle is coming home from a work trip and seeing the mountains. image image La  Isla is another favorite Ballard restaurant especially the empanadillas at happy hour. Pono Ranch is another new favorite because they have a huge patio and fish tacos!image imageimageOf course, there’s also Little Woody’s for delicious burgers. There are two new burger places that opened this month that I’ll have to post about next.

In August, I’ve had work trips in Seattle, Fargo, Spokane and next week, I’ll return to Boise and St Louis. I’m looking forward to seeing Beav again and my in-laws! imageSeptember will be a travel heavy month too, with trips to Idaho Falls, Boise, Missoula, Chicago, Honolulu, Spokane, Chicago again but I’ll have the last week of September free!!!

To do list before Christmas

Tree up: check photo (2)

Ornaments on the tree: check

Holiday cards sent: check (However, I do need to buy Canadian postage for 3 remaining cards.)

Presents made on Shutterfly: check

Ordering presents from Shutterfly: on hold for Cyber Monday deals

Wrapping presents: halfway there… (1)

Try to resist buying unnecessary “deals” during Cyber Monday…….

This month will be busy with work trips. I fly to Spokane, WA this week, which is a quick flight and I also have a Seattle clinic to visit. Yay for local sites! However, next week I go back to Fargo, ND where the temperatures at night are below zero!!! I hope my Chicago coats will be enough keep me warm! It will be nice to see more snow in the Midwest than here in Seattle. I will also visit a clinic in Tacoma, which should be fun. I’ll return to Spokane one more time before December 20th too!

Sometime this month, I’ll find time to blog more and wrap the remaining presents. I’m happy that I’ve planned ahead with all the Christmas gifts and I’ve already sent out my holiday cards.

I plan to practice yoga daily while at home and while traveling and/or go for a swim. (The large hotel pool is one of my favorite things about Fargo!)

I also plan to not go overboard with presents this year and try to only give meaningful and useful gifts.

Here’s to a healthy and happy end of 2013!
