I’m so sad. Our favorite restaurant closed last night with blaring 90s hip hop and one of our best food experiences ever (this is in comparison to Alinea and Willows Inn on Lummi Island). We listened to Biggie, Snoop, Emimen and Ice Cube during Dot’s Last supper. We had amazing service and phenomenal food. Our first course was a delicious bibb lettuce salad with hazelnuts and green beans. Yes, I brought my favorite purse too. After our lovely salad, we also had a Roquefort pate and Chicken Liver Mousse! While waiting for the Cote du Boeuf, (which comes with several sides) we had the frisee salad with a poached egg and bacon! It was acidic but balanced as well as bacontastic and delicious. The Cote du Bouef and frites were stunning (as always). The fries are the perfect mix of Mr. F’s and my preference for fries. I prefer slightly soft but salty while Mr. F prefers crispier and breaded. The beef was mouth watering and a perfect medium well. As if we weren’t pampered enough, we had 3 more breathtaking sides, including ratatouille, collard greens and il Corvo pasta with peas and fresh pea vines. Chef Miles was pulling out all the stops on the last night of the restaurant. We barely had any room left but I felt we had to get dessert, since it was our last chance. We were not disappointed. The bread pudding made by Chef Tyler was savory and heavenly. We are sincerely going to miss our post yoga spot. Dot’s has become our very most favorite restaurant and we used to go weekly. I guess we’re going to eat at home more now!
