September is flying by and October will be jam packed with trips, events, and family. After traveling to 5 different states in the last month, I’m loving being a homebody and going to yoga 4-6 times a week. We’ve also been trying to take advantage of the last days of summer by swimming in the Sound, walking to yoga, and going to restaurants with great views and/or patios. However, we’ve been going out to eat a lot with friends and family, so we’re trying to cook more at home this week.
Last night, we had a family dinner at RockCreek. Both of my sisters, my parents, my grandparents, Uncle Do, Tina, Aunt Chita and Uncle Tom, Chris and Travis, were all there! There was lots of great good, laughter and Washington wine. We had rose from Gramercy Cellars and Maison Bleue, Chardonnay from Baer and Riesling from Tempus Cellars, which all went well with our fish. Katie ordered half a crab and Janie got an awesome photo of it! We all loved the desserts too, especially the coconut cake!
My dad’s birthday is this week, and we’re celebrating with a dinner cruise around Lake Union and Lake Washington!
I may need to fly to Fargo twice in the next 3 weeks, once before the end of September and also a four day trip the first full week in October! It will be nice to return to Mezzaluna for dinner! I hope I can actually make a trip to the zoo too.
We’re going to Woodruff, WI for my cousin, Jason’s wedding the first weekend in October. I can’t wait to see all my Wisconsin cousins. Jason introduced me to New Glarus, Spotted Cow, last time I saw him!
I’m hoping to be chosen as a finalist for the US new CRA of the Year contest! I’ll find out on October 4th. I passed the multiple choice questionnaire and wrote a great essay that Mr. F edited about my experiences as a new monitor. If I get picked I’ll fly to Cary, NC the first week of November to present a 15 minute PowerPoint!
I’ll need to fly to Missoula, MT for work at the end of October and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve never been to Montana!
I’m not sure if we’ll dress up for Halloween this year because we’ll be in Austin, Texas, for Mr. F’s sister’s wedding!!!!!!! I’m so excited because I’ve never been to Austin too. If we do dress up, one of our Halloween ideas is to dress up like Archer and Lana Kane from the FX show, Archer.I think I’ll have to see what Mr. F’s cousins are up for, as the wedding gets closer!
