A Seattle Foodie Guide, the Fremont/Ballard Edition

I am a self-described foodie and these are my favorite restaurants in Fremont and Ballard!

RockCreek is a Seafood and Spirits restaurant that just opened on July 30th! We noticed the construction down the street from our yoga studio, so we checked it out last night for a fun date! imageThe new place, on 4300 Fremont Ave. N, looks a little rustic and modern with wooden beams and smooth cement floors. Mr. F and I imagegot four different kinds of local oysters, image a Heritage apple, endive and Marcona almond salad, imageimagea local Albacore tuna and Walla Walla onion and cucumber small plate, Fijian Wahoo, imageand a lovely flourless chocolate cake with basil, strawberries, and pistachio ice cream!  imageIf you live close by, you must check out this new restaurant. It’s an amazing space with delicious local seafood.

I’ve blogged about Dot’s Delicatessen before (next door to RockCreek on Fremont Ave) and I can’t say enough nice things about it. I love all the sandwiches that I’ve had there especially with Rachel’s Ginger Beer. They also have amazing desserts like the bread pudding and rice pudding!image image

Agrodolce is on 35th and Fremont. My favorite dish is the Bitter Greens Salad. imageThey also have amazing gelato and other desserts.564086_620852305322_1502112394_n [There may be a theme to my favorite restaurants: sweet and savory.]  549010_620852110712_1278566258_n

The Walrus & the Carpenter has a large variety of oysters in a small intimate setting. We love to go there right when happy hour starts to avoid the crowds. imageimage It was the first place that we wanted to revisit, when we moved back from Chicago.image imageWe recently went with my bestie, Andy Mac! image In addition to fresh local oysters, we got asparagus with a fried egg and image steak tartare with a fried egg. image It was phenomenal.

Sam’s Grill in Ballard and Chiso in Fremont 59140_617984232962_1759163198_n are my favorite sushi places. My favorite burger places are Lil Woody‘s, IMG_0061right next to Cupcake Royale, King’s Hardware, image and Uneeda Burger (Fremont). I have not tried the Molly Moon’s ice cream milkshakes at Lil Woody’s yet, but I’ve very curious. I loved the salted carmel milkshake at Uneeda!image

My favorite pizza place in Ballard is Veraci!

Last but not least, my favorite Latin food can be found at la IslaImage 3Image
