Our first day in Seabrook

IMG_0089 This week, we drove to the Washington Coast to visit my cousin, Katy!  IMG_0090 Katy’s family has a place in Seabrook, WA. IMG_0093 It was the perfect weather. It was mostly sunny in the upper 60s to lower 70s with a strong wind close to the Pacific Ocean. When we arrived on Wednesday, IMG_0094 we took a woodland hike down to the beach (and saw a tiny gnome village on the way) and had to bring a few layers to combat the wind. The tide was out and the water had warmed up along the shoreline. IMG_0096 We saw a few sand dollars and razor clam shells,IMG_0103 and Katy even saved a sand dollar by bringing IMG_0101  it to deeper water. IMG_0105 IMG_0112 After wandering around the Main Street of Seabrook and the beach,  IMGP0074   IMGP0081  we had a lovely dinner of grilled corn on the cob and chicken salad made by Katy’s mom, Penny. In the evening, we toured the Seabrook community and looked at all the Fourth of July decorations. There’s actually a contest for the best decorated house! IMGP0085 The house across the street from us, won the People’s Choice award last year. IMGP0097 IMGP0099 My favorite house had mini cupcakes and popcorn out front. IMGP0125 IMGP0126 IMGP0136 IMGP0142 When we got back from our walk around Seabrook, we had rhubarb pie a la mode! IMGP0164 Tomorrow I’ll post about our Fourth of July in Seabrook!
