River North:
Graham Elliot – cool tasting menu that’s totally worth it. This is a great anniversary place.
MK http://www.mkchicago.com another awesome tasting menu but there are many other options too. This is also a really neat building with a huge skylight and old wooden beams.
Farmhouse Tavern is fun and kind of a fancy hipster place. http://www.farmhousechicago.com
RPM Italian has awesome homey pasta and the reality TV stars Giuliana and Bill Rancic are frequently there. It’s a lot of hype though…it might be a bit much while pregnant.
Gilt Bar was a little too trendy and pricy for my taste. Same with GT Fish and Oyster, although their food is great. Perhaps for a date night after the baby comes, try Sushisamba rio  http://sushisamba.com or Union. Sushisamba was very colorful and fun but I like Union’s black rice sushi  http://www.eatatunion.com more. (I would also skip Ai Japanese if it ever comes up.)
Skip Café Iberico because the vibe is old school and the food is only okay. Nacional 27 has similar food and is way more fun. However be prepared for bongo drums playing in the background.

We live right next door to Erie Street Café and it’s a little dated. The portions are huge, which is great because it looks expensive but each entree feeds 2-3 people. I would not recommend Zealous. The service was super slow and the food wasn’t that awesome.
If you’re really hungry, Fogo de Chao has a lot of great Brazilian steaks and a huge salad bar.

Slurping Turtle is a fun and casual noodle place. They have great booths along the windows that are perfect for people watching too.

Fulton Market:
GEB (Graham Elliot Bistro) – a more affordable option to Graham Elliot and it has a neat rock and roll theme
I’d personally skip iNG restaurant which is nearby (it’s too similar to Graham Elliot and not enough food). I’d also skip Carinvale if it ever comes up (very noisy and brightly colored, to a fault.)
I have yet to go to Girl and Goat but only because it’s impossible to get in at a reasonable time. If you want to go at 4:30 you can always get a reservation. We’re going tomorrow though, so I’ll let you know!
