It’s that time of year and I’ve held off longer than usual, so please make a Mammogram Promise!
You don’t have to be a woman to promise. All you have to do is click the button that says I Promise to spread the life-saving word about mammography. When you do promise, you’ll be entered to win amazing prizes (e.g., gift certificates for dinner at fancy restaurants, buckets of chocolate, theater tickets, and more) every day throughout October. If you don’t want to do it for your health, then do it for the chocolate!
Click on the link below to make your promise:
Getting a mammogram is one of the most important things a woman can do to detect breast cancer early. Unfortunately, more and more women are not getting the message. The percentage of women who reported having a recent mammogram has fallen over 15 percent in Washington State over the last year. That’s why Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Group Health are launching the Make a Mammogram Promise campaign.
In the next 4 days, you could win amazing prizes from the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance for Making A Mammogram Promise!

Oh my goodness, I’m so excited for this weekend. My friends and I are dressing up as Harry Potter characters and I cannot wait!!!
I’m going to be Bellatrix.
Check out my awesome wig!
Mr. F’s going to be Lucius Malfoy and he has an awesome wig too.
My friends are going to be Narcissa Malfoy and Draco, although they may end up being Hermione and Ron. Another friend is going to be Harry Potter!!!
I would love to find Harry Potter cupcakes in time for our dinner party, on Saturday! Mr. F thinks we should try making these same designs ourselves.
I just bought Christmas music by She & Him!! Is it too early to listen to it? Should I wait until after Halloween?
I love Zooey Deschanel on “the New Girl” because she is extremely dorky and hilarious.
Christmas is coming!
I’ve started a new series, A Song of Fire and Ice, and I’m obsessed. Have you heard of Game of Thrones?
I’ve enjoyed reading Game of Thrones so much that I finished it (on my Kindle app on my phone) within a week. It’s no wonder that this amazing book series was made into an HBO television series.
This is a scene from the first chapter, where Jon Snow and Bran Stark find the direwolf puppies.
I’m curious to see how Daenerys Targaryen is portrayed. The horses of the Dothraki tribe should be beautiful to watch too.
Peter Dinklage won an Emmy for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister.
I’m reading so quickly that I just started the second book, A Clash of Kings, last night!
I can’t believe this week has gone from a low of 39 degrees, mixed with 60 mph winds, flooding from
25 feet foot waves on Lake Michigan,
to a gorgeous and sunny Friday, Saturday, Sunday up to 70 degrees!
Mr. F and I had a wonderful run through Lincoln Park today. The fall colors look lovely!
Chicago is amazing this time of year!
A friend at work mentioned today that she loves Jazz. She said Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald are some of her favorites. Thus, I’ve decided to make another mixed CD for my work pals!
I’m including Mr. F’s and my first dance song from our wedding, A Kiss to Build A Dream On! My Dad and I danced to Unforgettable for the Father/Daughter dance. When I first met Mr. F, he used to listen to Hello Dolly and the Hot Fives and Sevens albums frequently. Recently, he’s been listening to Cookin’ with the Miles Davis Quintet.
I also included Rosemary Clooney’s It’s De-Lovely. My best friend from college had this as her first dance song at her wedding!
Here’s a list of my favorite Jazz songs on my most recent mixed CD!
A Kiss to Build A Dream On by Louis Armstrong
Unforgettable by Nat “King” Cole
Dream A Little Dream Of Me by Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong
My Baby Just Cares for Me by Nina Simone
Hello Dolly by Louis Armstrong
L-O-V-E by Nat “King” Cole
It’s De-Lovely by Rosemary Clooney
My Heart by Louis Armstrong from the Hot Fives And Sevens

It’s a blustery, rainy day in Chicago. There are winds gusting up to 40 mph! I love that I got to wear my rain boots today.
I did want to try this move below, but I might have blown away!
I’d love to try this with the cats, sometime.
How sweet is this illustration?!
Luckily, Mr. F likes it when its raining too!
